LOTR Mod Divide And Conquer Just Got A MASSIVE Update

Hey guys, so you might remember that just over a year ago I covered the Third Age mod for Medieval 2 Total War. I talked about all the beautiful factions and custom built battle maps but I also briefly spoke about the spiritual successor that has continued development through all these years; Divide and Conquer.

With over 200 new custom battles maps, fully overhauled and unique mechanics and events for each playable faction as well as an extensive unit roster redesign, if you ever want to play a true Lord of the Rings Total War this is definitely it.

There are other mods like it of course Dawnless Days which we’re still waiting for the campaign on, Lord of the Rings Total War on Rome Remastered or Where The Shadows Lie on Troy but all of these are still very much works in progress and aren’t nearly as playable as Divide and Conquer is today.

Today I’m here to tell you that DAC just received a major update with version 5.0 bringing this beautiful middle earth mod to the forefront of new and exciting campaigns and with all of the changes made from new custom city and castle models on the map to overhauled unit rosters for Aragorn’s faction especially and loads of other brilliant changes, it’s never been a better time to jump back into Medieval 2 and check this amazing mod out.

I’ve been playing DaC since I think v2.2 or 3.0, so many years. It’s a fantastic mod, I highly recommend. Sad to think many people just finding it won’t even know who Galu is, he’s the main reason it’s gotten so good and stayed around for so long. My dream is med2 remastered and a DaC port.

Playing as the Dunedain, it can be really tough with enemies coming at you at almost every angle but it's fun and definitely a challenge.

The custom voices are the biggest thing for me. I can't think of any other Total War that you can do that with

I finished short Rohan campaign a few days ago on previous sub-version from Discord. It was very immersive. I had a lot of fun as well. During the playthrough, I think I faced one or two crashes to desktop, but no problems beside that.
Now I am playing Isengard long campaign on the new 5.0 version. As of now, I almost conquered Enedwaith and defeated the Last March of Ents. There were no crashes so far!
Guys, I highly advice you to play this mod! Trust me, it is worth it so much!

You can also add the Engine Overhaul Project (which will be integrated directly into the mod for v6) for a lot of modern Total War quality of life things. Such as: forcing the AI to merge stacks so they dont spam single unit armies, auto sorting of unit cards in armies, and modern TW-style auto-replenishment/desertion. It's extremely easy to install and use.

Imagine if the Tolkien estate gave CA the rights on the condition that they did LOTR Total War in the style of Larian Studio's development. Long, epic projects where they really nail it down and create something special. We'd end up with a Total War game that people would be playing decades from now.

This is actually the best total war fun ive ever had, and I love them all. Some more than others yes, but still. To all you watching this that have not tried DAC med 2 yet. The graphics of this video of the battles do not do it justice. They look MUCH MUCH better when you yourself load it up and turn all the graphics on, It looks terrible in comparison in this video ( which is not the terminators fault ) but it looks MUCH better in game.
