Can you use the trencher to dig for the French drain too, if you clean out with shovel after? I have a long drain to install before I switch to solid pipe, so wondering if I should rent excavator or trencher. Thanks

It looks like you tied a downspout into that drain line. Is that also acting as a French drain near that side of house or just solid pipe to move the downspout water?

Would you recommend schedule 40 pipe or the black flexible pipe. I'm concerned about the ribs in the black filling up with sand, dirt, or trash.

Great content! Question on drainage near the house: I have a negative grade toward my house, but about 1' from the foundation there's an open dirt swale that carries water away. It works fine but over time I fear erosion will make it less effective.

Id like to make the swale more permanent by putting down paver sand and pavers. I don't see anyone on youtube doing this. Are there any issues with this or would you do it differently?
