Back in Soviet days Škoda was a producer of cheap, reliable if outdated cars. Worth a look if you weren't concerned about style. Half a century later Škoda is a Volkswagen brand, nice to look at and nice to drive until it does what VWs do and goes in for repairs. No thanks.
