No, poutine is a Quebec dish that the rest of Canada has only more or less recently discovered. Being from Montreal however, I'd take Montreal smoked meat or bagels any day over poutine. Anyhow, Canada is too diverse east to west to have a true national dish, in my opinion.

Poutine is revolting and unhealthy.
We do not need an "official food", but if we did there are far better options.
