Terry Fox - 40 Years of Hope

40 years ago this week, on April 12, Terry Fox dipped his foot into the Atlantic Ocean in Newfoundland and transformed the course of cancer research in Canada. The suffering he saw in the cancer wards after his diagnosis compelled him to act. Terry was an innovator, fundraiser, athlete, humanitarian. His Marathon of Hope might be 40 years old but his message is as timely as ever.

Wow. I remember learning about him in class years ago. Thought his name was familiar when I saw a Google doodle of him just now. Looked him up and I remember now. I’m not Canadian, but I’m amazed by his story 💪🏼

OMG. What a inspirational story to read when I am planning for my first marathon at 56 yrs. (Seems God is talking to me) All fears and insecurities just vanish and you dont give a damn to these negatives. It was too emotional for me reading about him in Wiki.
