It shows the necessity of these teams, and naval vessels. Well done men for keeping thes important shipping lane open for free trade.

I went to a maritime security conference back in 2010 when we were still playing footsies with the pirates. The doctrine being proselytised was that we need to seek solutions that don't require use of force. All the ex Navy chaps from UK, USA and elsewhere were stunned. They proceeded on with this ridiculous mantra for a few more years until the penny dropped that you can't negotiate with pirates, and they will exploit your weakness.

I congratulate and thank these personnel who risk their lives and spend time away from their families to ensure our cargo reaches its final destination. Shows me that governments in the middle east are so unreliable and disorganised that an independent organisation such as this is required to keep the waterways safe from undesirables. Keep up the good work the statistics tell us you are most needed.

International law grants freedom of the seas. Pirates can be fended off by any means necessary, including deadly force.

This was a brilliant idea. Relatively inexpensive security compared to stationing security permanently on ships.

Thank you for posting this video.

It's interesting to see even one of the many anti-pirate techniques used today.

I always wondered how that worked. What a great job. I love hearing a Scotsman say “99.9%”.

Nice to know some industrious people are protecting the shipping. If left to Politicians, nothing would ever get done.

Shippers resisted the obvious solution for years: armed guards, preferring to put the crews at great risk and pay tens of millions in ransom money (for one ship!).
Now professional armed guards are employed and the pirates have disappeared. DUH.

And just who are the idiots worried about the arsenal ship 'security'? Bring it on.
