In this episode of unreal engine open world tutorial series, I am going to show you how to merge multiple static meshes into a single object inside unreal engine. I had to do this because I was trying to place the megascan cliff object in aprocedural manner. But they were open objects and because of that, when i procedurally place them, there were openings visible to the player. So I merged multiple objects and created a single closed static mesh.

Thank you for the info mate, but for the title of the video, the only relevant infomation is (11:58 - 12:58), everything else seems like paddind. Anyways, good fortune with your work.

Just an other small idea for you: How about adding climbing "spots" to the procedural rocks and walls... that is your characters has a climbing system where you added actors to hold on to. If you can add those actors to the rock static mesh then you would have the option to climb all of the rocks you just added!

The problem with that method is you'll end up with 100k poly rock that only has 5k poly's visible. That's horrible for optimization and can result in sluggish rendering, performance issues, and a bloated game when packaged. What you might want to consider doing as a final cleanup step is once you've placed your rocks along your cliff is to export them as a group to Max or Maya and remove the hidden faces. It's more work on the front end but you'll get the same visual result and consume fewer resources.

Let's say I have a few buildings generated procedurally. My problem is that the building meshes intersect with each other, and each time I start my game the meshes appear in some other location. Any advice or tips on what to do to change these?
