Normally, we ask the question round the other way, trying to understand what it is that causes people to break the law. But it is just as interesting and potentially informative to invert the proposition and consider the reasons citizens have for obeying the law. Because people obviously obey the law because they think it's legitimate or fear the punishments that follow if they don't. But what if you were above all laws and rules? What if everyone started obeying you whatever you commanded them? Let's find out in this timeline video.

In this hypothetical scenario, like many of my fellow commenters, I would do objectively bad things with the powers. Maybe I'd sprinkle a few "good" deeds as well, so I can trick whatever is left of my conscience into not making me feel guilty. "Yeah, I might have killed 2 thirds of the world's population, BUT thanks to MY intervention, that one kitty was safely rescued from the top of that tree! My job here is done!"

In the end tho, I would probably end up accidentaly saying something that causes the end of the world. Maybe something that sounds good in theory but would ultimately be bad news in the real world, even for my hypothetical overpowered self. Maybe a literal interpretation of an idiom. Maybe I got bored and tried to find the limits of my capabilities. I dunno, but my reign of terror wouldn't be everlasting. Though, I would give my all to make it as long of a regime as possible.
