Even though nobody liked Joey and Rachel as a couple, especially not Matt and Jennifer, Matt really did a convincing job at conveying Joey's feelings. His acting was the best part of this divisive storyline.

Joey falling in love with Rachel makes sense and it worked well.. but Rachel falling in love with Joey all bc of a dream she had is a nail in the coffin

Not everyone are big fans of these two but you gotta give them credit for having feelings for each other back and forth. I mean Rachel’s little was so cute and later on when Rachel saw Joey acting in a romantic drama as Dr. Drake, I mean he was very handsome. Can you blame them seriously for falling for each other they have a good eye and good taste. Even though this was never meant to be let’s not hate too much in an alternate universe who knows this kinda fits in someways is kinda sincere you gotta admit.

I watched it in real time (when it 1st came out in the 90s and each season was in 1 year) and had to wait a whole year for the next season. So maybe that has influenced my opinion, but anyway, I don't think the Rachel Joey thing was unreasonable. Ross and Rachel were lagging so much, so I don't know, at the time the Joey and Rachel thing, it didn’t annoy me, I liked it.

I like this storyline and makes all the sense to me: they cared for each other, they were sexy and good-looking together... I prefer this relationship over the toxic coming together and going apart of Ross and Rachel. I would have liked very much that they had more screen time together.

Rachel and Joey had such a strong platonic friendship for most of the series, so it felt like a cop out to pair them up so late in the run. Even Matt and Jen reportedly felt very creepy while filming the scenes.

For a time I really wanted the Joey and Rachel story to really take off but the circumstances were complicated. I would have loved to see them together before she was even pregnant and had her and Ross’s baby.

I concede that it is weird to fall in love of your friends after like 8-9 years, but i swear it is possible.
One day you can wake up and eventually fall in love, even though you've been in a 100% platonic friendship for a WHILE. Hence you start spending a little more time with the person, paying a little more attention, being a little nicer; and at the end of day it might win over the other's feeling.

I'm not saying it was the best choice the writers did, they could've done so much better, for example joey falling in love but not rachel would've been much more realistic, but I don't think they wrote a scenario so unrealistic.

This is the one story arc that makes me cringe any time I watch this part of the series. Joey and Rachel had ZERO chemistry as a couple. They had perfect chemistry as a platonic relationship but not as a couple. Even Matt and Jennifer said they didn’t like it which should tell you everything: I’ve been on the record saying they should’ve had Joey and Phoebe together because they always had the best chemistry.
