This is the first of your videos that I've come across. I look forward to finding more. The bowl was very striking, but I think we have to credit God for most of that, but your workmanship certainly complemented His creation. We are fortunate that He made very few boring trees. See you in the next video. Greetings and best wishes from frigid NH.

Really enjoyed watching you work with this beautiful bowl. And especially your explaining what you were doing and why. I'm not a wood turner just yet, have a 2nd hand lathe I will be picking up from a friend who recently retired from working with wood and selling his equipment. My ultimate goal will be to own a Nova DVR lathe later on as I gain experience using the midi lathe. I love watching videos like yours putting this lathe to work creating beautiful works of art in wood! Thanks~~

I have a Nova Saturn DVR which is a 16"X24" lathe. The size works well for me. I've had this lathe for almost 10years and has been funtionall perfect. No problems. I use the swiveling head stock feature a lot. Very handy for inside turning. I'm very happy with this lathe

Beautiful bowl Scott and excellent job with the videos! I look forward to many more videos, they're helpful to beginners like myself, so I thank you for you taking the time to make these videos and getting them uploaded, great job!

Great piece of maple 🍁, and good job on the turning tips.
Any recommendations on a lathe about $5, 000 price point?
I'm looking at the PM 3520C, THE LAGUNA 2436, and just saw the
Rikon 70- 3040 which really looks nice.
Which one do you think is the best for the money?

Thanks for the great vlog. One question, the banjo lock bolt is forever getting lose, is there a remedy for this annoying problem?

Really good video and presentation, beautiful bowl, everything excellent. I just don't like the lathe, everyone always points out that it has no belt and ignore the fact that if something happens to the spindle you can't just change the spindle because it is part of the motor which would be more expensive than just the spindle. To me that is a great disadvantage because things happen, bearings wear out and again there part of the motor. If I am wrong please correct me. Again great job without a doubt.

Do you still have this lathe? I am looking to upgrade to a full size lathe and wondering if this one is for me?

Hi Scott,
I've seen a few of your videos on your old Nova DVR. They no longer offer that model (2024?) but, as I'm sure you know, have released the Orion 18.
Seems like it can do much of what I'd need, but in a less robust (and cheaper) package than the Rikon 70-3040. Just wondering what your thoughts are around the Nova lathes. I realize the Rikon is in a bigger class, heavier, bigger motor, etc, but seems like the DVR motors have enough power for fairly big blanks. I'm mainly turning 16-24" blanks.
Thanks, and have a great day!
