1 cup dashi stock
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tbsp sugar
1tbsp corn starch+ 3 tbsp cold water

1. In a small sauce pan, add dashi stock, soy sauce and sugar
2. Turn heat on to medium and bring to a simmer
3. Once simmering, combine the cornstarch with cold water in a small bowl to make a slurry
4. Slowly drizzle the slurry into the pot while mixing with a whisk
5. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat

Yes omg I love this anime, it’s so underrated. I wasn’t sure anyone else even knew it. The food is absolutely delicious. And there’s real life segments at the end of episodes, that show you how to make the food at home!

I remember watching this and I was so in love with the anime. I loved how sometimes there would be tiny parts at the end showing a real person cook the same food or going to a restaurant to try it.

They always drank beer in the anime and whenever I watched it I would pour myself a cold ginger ale because it looked the same haha

I even tried remaking their popular salted beans.

The most underrated cooking anime, and my personal favourite isekai anime lmao. And the more recent campfire cooking comes pretty close to it, although that has more fantasy elements while this one is primarily about food (but the world setting and plot development is pretty impressive too). Short stories with real people sharing local places to eat or cooking up recipes based on the episode's featured foods.

I highly recommend it as something casual to watch while you eat something. I don't know the full name but it's Izakaya Nobu
