Coaches can leave when they want students can change school whenever why can’t athletes. College sports have finally caught up with the rest of the world and it’s long overdue.

Lane Kiffin left Tennessee for SC in the middle of the night without telling anyone. The hypocrisy is hilarious

Treat these players right and you will get the best from them.

Coaches can no longer BS recruits on playing time -- pure and simple.

Looks like he just woke up from a binge and just showed up to the press conference still intoxicated. 💯

Imagine if Joe Burrow never left Ohio State to go to LSU. Players should have the freedom to go wherever they want to go.

Things tend to fall apart when the exploitation begins to be addressed. The whole system been against the athletes

The real disaster is Lane Kiffin’s hair. It looks like he just walked out of a bar fight in the middle of a tornado

Most of what Kiffin said is right. When SCOTUS ruled the players were entitled to compensation for NIL the NCAA led by Emmert tucked their tails between their legs and ran away rather than facing the issue. I have said for the last decade that college football and basketball need a commissioner to set and enforce policy, investigate infractions, and take action where necessary, and all of this under the umbrella of an NFL-style system. The biggest problem is a lack of regulation when it comes to NIL. In the professional game, when you sign a contract to play for a team, with some exceptions you play every game for that team including those games where you are no longer in contention for the playoffs or the big prize. Players should be compensated but at the same time should be required to play including bowl games for the team they are receiving NIL money for. In other words, pro contracts with pro requirements and that includes severe penalties for poaching. On the other hand, players not getting NIL money should be able to transfer given reasonable restrictions. The bottom line though, Kiffin is right and I don't see a problem with him using the same system everybody else is using until it is fixed.

It’s always a disaster when the coaches don’t have total control … miss me with this and win some games Lane

The transfer portal is fine. Allow these players the same freedom as their coaches

The truth is Kiffin would prefer it be illegal for players to get paid. Why? So he can pay players illegally. This gives him a chance to compete with top teams. But if you make it an even playing field where anyone can pay anyone, he's at a disadvantage to Bama and Georgia and Texas and Ohio State. I do think that players should not be able to transfer multiple times with no penalty. There should at least be a limit. One free transfer with no penalty, then you sit out a year if you want to leave a second time - with exceptions: if the head coach leaves all players should have the opportunity to leave as well.

This is why Georgia, Alabama and LSU stay good. Homegrown talent, guys that dreamt of wearing the colors since they were kids

Yeah the coaches just want to make all the money themselves!

This was hilarious. From Kiffin looking like he just rolled out of bed after a bender to the hypocrisy.

He just called it professional sports, thought it was collegiate athletics to encourage growth and development and partnerships and all that...
