PE1 and PE2 share an ethernet segment.
When PE1 learns MAC1 using data plane learning, it generates RT-2 message(for MAC1) and broadcasts it PE2 and a couple of remote VTEPs PE3 and PE4.
When PE2 receives this RT2, it updates its local MAC-VRF table.
My question is, does PE2 generate another RT-2 message (for the same MAC1) and broadcast it to all other PEs?
Won't it be redundant to do so?
If PE3 and PE4 are aware (via RT-1 messages) that PE1 and PE2 are part of the same ES, can't they naturally load-balance the flows towards MAC1 between PE1 and PE2?
What necessitates PE2 to send an explicit RT-2 message although the actual data plane learning happened on PE1 and NOT on PE2?
