#023 - UM34C USB power meter teardown

Показать описание
Here is a look at the inner workings of the UM34C USB dongle meter, and of course some testing.
The bluetooth function on this is great, and the app works as expected - only annoyance is that when power is lost to the meter you have to disconnect and when saving the logged data, the old file gets overwritten.
Nonetheless, it is a great toll for diagnostics, data logging and monitoring on USB charging - quality product from RD tech.

Really nice, man. Ruideng has some awesome products. I have a DPS3205, with which I build a regulated power supply. Works as a charm!

Chris very informative video as usual, what’s the spec of the cable you used to make the USB cable, and where can I get the cable from please? I’m in the UK.

The Ruideng is a bargain at £15, I have a couple of different usb meters and this compares with my YZX studio 1270 which was £35
The Ruideng app is really nice, my YZX has BT output but it is just a string of values and you have to use an app like blueterm to capture and XL to make a graph, this is much easier!

Where do you get axial high current capable cables to make your own USB cables?

There is a disclaimer on the Amazon site the bluetooth only works with Android 5.0; it certainly does not work with ver 4.4.2 on my cell phone. I does, however, work on my tablet running v 5.1.1) which is better anyway. The meter itself seems as accurate as any others I've come across. Documentation is unimpressive, one can figure it out in time for the next release.
