A fun video would be a "learn about don" type video. For instance, I know you love rick and morty, and you're wearing a Bender shirt - would love to know more about your likes and passions BEYOND reselling. You're an interesting dude.

Crash course in pre-ISBN label books (if it has the label, you can quickly scan it with Amazon Seller App, so not much need to 'know' the newer books.) Quality non-fiction. Think specificity. How Meat Is Made is worse than How to Make Sausage which is worse than 20 Great Sausage Recipes from the Old Country. Know the difference between a book that is likely to be a collector's item like Early American Wrought Iron vs. Grill Master. That's especially important with cooking and crafts, as the generic disposable items are virtually worthless. Out of print town histories are usually pure gold. High school and college yearbooks are steady sellers but are often long-tail items. Most valuable nonfiction will fall into the realm of how to do something. I'm currently listing a goldmine of early books on hypnotism. Coffee table books generally don't have a lot of value because they are usually overprinted and end up on bookstore remainder tables. Most Reader's Digest are garbage. Vintage young adult series with dust jackets are usually good, especially stuff we all grew up on like Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Newer printings are worth selling in lots if you get them on the cheap. Look at what Don sells for ephemera. Sometimes what you find in or around a book is worth 100x what the book is worth. (I actually found an original watercolor by a famous artist in a book once.)

QUESTION: What app do you download and use to look up books please? Thank you so much for this video!

Don, I really like the gold/jewelry buyer that you use that is named "Estate Jewelers" I think you said. He is very honest and seems to be quite fair in the prices he pays and I found it interesting that he will also buy gemstones (most jewelry buyers will not pay anything for stones and they just keep them) and vintage jewelry. I am a metal detectorist and find quite a bit of gold and silver items from my hunts and am looking to sell off certain pieces to get money to buy other things - in the area I live I cannot find a "decent" gold buyer that is paying what I consider to be a good rate (> 90% spot price) on gold/silver. Do you know if the owner would be willing to buy gold/silver, etc jewelry if I sent it through mail to him (USPS Priority with insurance of course)? I could of course contact them myself with this question too but I just wanted to post it in case other viewers would find it interesting to hear your response. Thanks in advance, Mark.

I just upgraded to having a store on eBay so i could use Terapeak cause it seems like the least expensive way to find any ballpark price on older items.
The value in this business is finding valueable items that others don't know or don't care too look for, whilst the people that do desire them often can't find them by there local means.

Either or:

1. What types of items hold sentimental or nostalgia value to you personally? And would you ever sell those items.

2. Maybe im not looking well enough (cant find a way to search just a channel). Also what im learning is most of the scarcer (and generally more valuable) items do not have an easy to view sales record on eBay.

How many different websites do you use to look up all your items? Is there one for each collectible type? (Stamps, records, books, newspapers, dishware, etc.)

Also just a tip, if you made a downloadable spreadsheet or sheet with brands or particular items from each category that guarantee a profit than I would have to buy it, as the information is too good not to have.
(I also understand that would take a lot of time, which you may not have enough of running the business and youtube channel). I don't think it will cut into your market much as most viewers are in different areas. My subconscious remembers a lot, but not enough lol

Don, at the end of the video you mentioned a book data base app that you pay for. Would you care to tell us what it's called? Always love your videos!

found some magazines in a basement at an estate sale that have good comps, they look good but have a musty odor, I placed them in a container with baking soda, should I list them anyway or wait for the odor to go away?

I could not catch where you look up books before you buy them. I kept rewinding again and again but couldn't catch it. Please let us know. Thank you.

Have you come across famous artist paintings or signed lithographs in reselling? Peter Max? Andy Warhol? Piccaso?

Question, if I found a one-off piece, or even a whole collection of something that you'd be an expert in, or at least have experience with, is there a way of asking your thoughts and opinions about them in terms of pricing, or just general info. Or, do you provide a service like this.

(I personally would never bombard you with a ton of questions/items - and I'm wary of even asking this because I know the power of the internet and don't want to burden you with a flood of people thinking you'd do this regularly).

Q: Why are you the "Auction Professor" when most, if not all of your listings are BIN w/BO?
