The Fangchengbao Bao 5 is a rugged EREV (extended range electric vehicle) producing 687hp. The Fangchengbao (Formula Leopard) brand is the off-road/adventure brand from BYD and is more upmarket in its positioning.

This is interesting: the Chery Jetour Traveller and the Leopard 5 use exactly the same cabin and platform. They differ in the mechanics and equipment, but they are indeed the same vehicle. Take a close look at the sides, the dashboard, and the identical dimensions.

This is the EV I've been looking for to make the jump from our beloved Jeep Grand Cherokee.

It may not have the 780l (seats up) boot capacity of the Jeep, but it looks like it won't be far off that.

Something that's PHEV with 100+km pure electric range, and also has some off road toes for the odd beach driving & camping getaways.

PLEASE bring this to Australia. The BYD Sealion 6 is getting closer to convincing the change to EV, but no where near the off road chops or cargo capacity of this beast!

Sits rather low, Center of the wheel hub is still above the low point of the body, to be a proper off road car, center wheel hub should line up below the lowest point of the body line .
