Threads are not in the wrong place. It’s a learning curve because the threads are for both left and right handed people.

Shut the lid. Point it opposite of you! Minor twist left it will fall in place then turn clockwise!

I'm having the same issue and said the same thing. The threads are improperly aligned to the handle on this model. I have several BruMates and this is the only model that does that. They say oiling the seal helps to allow it to be turned more for proper alignment, but it still makes it VERY difficult to unscrew the lid for refilling.

I had the same issue, instead of making a video about the issue I contacted the company. They provided me a suggestion, I tried it and BOOM it worked! First line of "defense" shouldn't be creating a post on social media, repeating yourself numerous times, try contacting a business first 😏

Appreciate the explanation as to why it is a bust for you. I'm debating purchasing one and look for positive and negative reviews and you took the time to check instructions about how to put the lid on and still didn't work. This is very helpful.

Nice mug if you know how to use it you need to turn the lid until its tight not to where it stops when it stops its not tight and will leak
