Man Arrested By FWC Officers While Rescuing Family with Infant

FWC Officers intercepted a vessel towing a disabled boat carrying a family. During the inspection, suspicions arose regarding the captain's impairment. This incident serves as a strong reminder of the repercussions even when a person blows under a 0.8 BAC after undergoing SFST's—they can still face charges, as was the case with this individual.

I’m all for getting the drunk boaters, who are driving dangerously, off the water but this is ridiculous. Besides being under the legal limit, he was towing a broken down boat! The guy is literally helping strangers. Anyone who has broken down on the water prays for a guy like this to come along. That’s fine that they stopped him but once they saw the situation they should’ve guided them all in and sent everyone on their way. THIS is what gives law enforcement a bad name.

Wayne Baker is a legend, who saved a stranded family.

He was the first person I have ever seen pass all o the FWC sobriety tests.

He passed the breathalyzer test.

They should thank him for saving that family, remind him about excess alcohol consumption, thank him again, send him off, and wish him a nice day.

This video should be sent to every relevant member in public office in Florida.

The FWC are harassing people more and more. I had to put a formal request to review body camera, when we were checked in the keys this past summer. They ended up reviewing the body camera and said they officer was out of line. We were 100% compliant and had all our safety gear. He was just being a jerk.
