Thank you for this! I’ve been wondering this same thing. I have a cookie at the end of my first book for people to sign up to my email list and get a free after story. But as future books come out I’m not sure how to switch it up.

You brought up a burning question I’ve had when you said to get more books out there. Of course I want to produce high quality books and edit, but which is better, to spend a couple of extra months continuing to edit to a more polished up version or to get a ‘good enough’ book out there faster?

Hello. You mentioned a freebie or lead magnet to induce people to sign up. I am compiling an anthology; how many short stories should I include? I don't want anyone to feel cheated but I don't want to give away the total anthology for free. Each story is around 6K and there are eight stories in total. Thank you.

This past month was my last time with Story Origin for gaining subscribers. I find that there are too many freebie-seekers on there that download free books(which they never read)and then unsubscribe after two/ three emails. I am a slow writer(or at least I was - the new plan involves bringing out more books per year)so in the past, I was only releasing one book a year. The rest of the time I don't know what else to offer them and was trading newsletters with other authors(I am suspense and thriller) and participating in group promos(which are offering free books) Really trying to break the cycle, so besides a new reader magnet(I was using a first in series book before)what else is good to attract(and keep) readers? Thanks!
