🔴LIVE Fuji XE3 initial impressions and photography Q and A

I've been shooting with the Fujifilm X-E3 over the weekend and in this livestream I am sharing some initial impressions. Keep in mind that these are still early days and I am learning about the camera so some of these perspectives may change with a bit more time and adaptation.

In this video I discuss the autofocus performance of the xe3, the image quality and color rendition, the form factor, build quality and the EVF (which is far and away my biggest gripe about the camera).

In short, the fuji xe3 is a FUN camera. It produces images with amazing quality. The performance of the new sensor with sharp, fast and accurate autofocus (even in tracking mode) feels very serious but it's not without its handicaps. Video is not a priority (obviously!) and the EVF is the smallest and least useful that I've seen out of ALL the Fuji cameras I've shot over the years. The touch focus and menu capabilities are really impressive-or I should say they WILL be once Fuji really smooths out the screen responsiveness and precision. It's taking on some big strides but it's still going to have some finishing work left before it's all the way "there".

Great video, I consider this your quintessential youtube video and shared it everywhere I could (prepare yourself for the troll onslaught lol). Really though this was your best livestream (especially for replay value) it's long but focused, thought out and truthful with some good advice scattered about then as always trailed off to a more personal and friendly discussion near the end.

BTW this kind of stuff (1:11:58) is precisely why I subbed your channel, I feel like most other youtube photogs are just justifying themselves.

I'd buy a jacket with bigger pockets. just something I check as Ive come from the xe1 and just got the xe3 so I carry xe3+23 then I normally take a couple more adapted vintage glass and batteries, then just have a tripod on my shoulder. perfect system for me

HI. If you enjoy manual lenses you should try the Leica mount voigtlander lenses. The 15mm skopar F4.5 is amazing on the fuji and is so easy to focus. I have the 15mm, 40mm (F1.4) and the tiny Leica 90mm F4.0. All three lenses fit in a pocket no probs.

The x-e3 and the 18mm f/2 (without hood), is actually fairly compact. And the 18mm is actually a little sharper than the 23mm f/2....

I just bought camera, coming from a x-e1 this is a big improvement. I really love this camera.

The blue thumb grip is this the " XT-2 Thumb grip" ?

I don’t think that this XE3 is the camera to buy. I think the XE4/5 will be a better sweet spot especially once we have 4K 60fps and maybe an evolution in the touch technology./
