I think the tame ness of this album was intentional since Hannah did want to showcase vulnerability in this album. I do believe it was released in 2016, maybe even 2017, it would’ve been a lot more appreciated. I still love it.

its called reflections, so overall, I feel its an album reflecting how
she felt this decade, its like a compilation of her feelings in an
album. I personally love how she released it at the closing of the
decade. Without the songs which are seemingly more positive and upbeat, i
feel she only put the songs that have the most emotion to herself, and
in general. She is reflecting on her life and on herself, of course its
going to feel like its kinda from the past because you have to look at
the past to reflect on life. For aesthetics I give this album 87/100 and
for overall meaning, I for sure give this album a 89/100. Its a grade A for sure

It was a bit underwhelming and I can understand feeling like it’s still stuck in the past a bit, however I think it’s very consistent for a debut and there are some really great moments. And Concrete Angel is like one of her most grandiose and powerful tracks I really expected you to like it more.

I think its a bit inaccurate to say that this album lies in a sound that comes from 2014, and that it’s lazy. To me it seems like an intentional stripping back of the PC music experimentation and aesthetics to put Hannah front and center. This thing is so so so beautiful and emotional in its simplicity and how you hear, fully take in, and feel all of Hannah’s melancholy through her voice
