A friend of mine was asking what’s the first step he should take. He was telling me about all of habits he wanted to change. I said “that voice inside your head, the arguing. Let go of that. Make peace with yourself how you are now”
The world has plenty enough voices in it willing to tear you down. Don’t allow yourself to be one of them. You only need one voice, the cheerleading voice. You only need the kind hand that says you can do this, or you can do better next time, you were just doing the best you could at the time. The gentle parent. Firm but kind. The one you deserved as a child.
And when you get there, that is when you can become that for others. Because the people who are cruel to others, are generally cruelest to themselves
We are, some of us, plants that have never been watered properly. Mad at ourselves for having some brown leaves.
I say this because this field is about getting in touch with your emotions. It’s not a very good idea to judge one as superior to another. In general because that keeps them from flowing but with this field you might find out you have feelings “you are not supposed to have.” Let’s let go of that and allow a moment so the feelings can pass.
It would be cruel to acknowledge how you feel in a critical way. That’s how you feel. And that’s ok.
Spreading it around to others, denial, projection is more the issue then the actual feelings themselves. When you feel them, acknowledge them, and embrace all the parts of yourself, that is when you can begin to walk through life authentically.
How can you be who you are if you don’t know who you are? How can you know who you are, if you don't know how you feel?
This will help you become more aware of, more capable of dealing with your feelings and being compassionate with yourself. Supportive, gentle, nurturing. This field is also designed to help with emotional regulation and emotional resilience.
Exploring your feelings will help you to find your purpose, true happiness, deep profound love for yourself and for life itself. It will also help to live a more conscious life.
Example thought in your head: “I feel jealous. I shouldn’t feel jealous. It’s wrong to be jealous” result? The jealousy is still there. You don’t acknowledge it and therefore don’t work through it. Your jealousy is affecting your actions and influencing your behavior. You end up hurting yourself and those around you but you don’t know why.
Alternative: “I feel jealous. Wow alright. I’m going to find away to work through this. What need is behind this feeling? Can I fill this need for myself?”
You are doing amazing today and tomorrow you will be even more amazing. I mean look how far you have come already!
