CUBE Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Actionteam 750 Review

The CUBE Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Actionteam 750 is an all mountain enduro electric bike with 160mm air suspension from Fox. It's a premium build with carbon fiber main frame and aluminum alloy rear swing arm. The large 203mm hydraulic disc brakes feature quad piston calipers and ICE Tech rotors. It features a Shimano Deore XT derailleur with 10 to 51 tooth cassette spread. A narrow wide chainring and plastic guide and rubberized double sided slap guard. The headset has oversteer protection, the handlebar is carbon fiber, and the stem cap is plastic to keep from over tightening. This ebike is built around the Bosch Smart System with Performance Line CX high torque eMTB motor, a high capacity Bosch PowerTube 750 battery pack, and it comes with the Kiox 300 removable color display panel. Jerry and I discuss the bike at length, and identify some trade offs with the charge port location, alloy rims vs. carbon fiber, and limited ability to tighten the headset due to the plastic stem cap. Overall, I loved the Kashima coated shocks and seat post dropper, but I was surprised that there was limited high speed and low speed compression adjust with a CTD clicker on the fork and on/off clicker on the rear. There was no flip chip for the rear section, and the battery is setup in such a way that you have to unlock it to replace the pack. With no kickstand, battery removal and charging can be tricky. The bike looks beautiful in the tri-color scheme (blue, grey, and orange accents) and is well balanced, but fairly long and heavy as many ebikes with high capacity batteries tend to be.

I just watched your Stromer Pinion review, and ordered one. Thanks Court, for the really comprehensive look at the bike.
So glad to see your friend escaped the mess in Ukraine.

Great bike, I bought it two months ago in Croatia, I paid 6, 000 euros, the only thing is that I got that bike with a black fork, not orange, really interesting 😊

I asked the local dealer why super high end bikes come with tubes. They said when they sit at the dealer and in transport. Tubeless would go completely flat and usually require fresh sealant.

I just bought a new set of brakes for my Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro. It came with Tektro HD-M275s which weren’t the best on a heavy e-bike. I paid 400AUD for a set of these 4 piston XT brakes (I think they’re BR-8120). Should pick them up next week! This bike is amazing though. I would have loved a dual suspension Cube Stereo, but they’re out of my price range!

Very nice and thorough review, Court. Looks like a very nice and fun bike to ride. I got a real kick out of seeing your Ukrainian friend do his wheelies.😂

I am thinking about buying the 160 HPC SLX 750 2024 model, would that be a solid choice?

the front fork is indeed climb focus I have fit 4 on my muscular mtb and the middle point is awesome to pedal smoothly on trails while the lock is mandatory for serious hillclimb I just change the rebound with an easy hand turn click at the bottom of the fork firmer for ascents softer for downhill, if you're only ever going to do downhill grip 2 seems to be a better option but downhill is as relevant to mtb than half-pipe is to skateboard it exists it's awesome but it's a tiny fraction of the actual bikers over-represented on youtube this one is a great choice for people who actually pedal aka bicycle and yes I know it's an electric but instead of doing 3200ft i want one to do 6400ft uphill instead just tried to ascend one of the UTMB trail mountain pass on legs..failed had to push but an electric bike would easily eat the 18-20% slopes I failed to climb

I've not long owned the CUBE Stereo Hybrid 140 SLX in carbon/reflex. More trail than endurance but still capable for most hardcore terrain if needs must. I however, use my Stereo 140 to poodle about the hilly rural lanes of Yè Oldè SW England with barbra (my pugzu) popped into her papoose & strapped to my chest then off we go into town. I added the acid kickstand & Topeak tetrarack with their trunkbag along with CUBEs own brand bottle cage & bottle & lastly the Lezyne super drive 1600 front & rear. I managed to find metal studded pedals with black pinions as all other pedals had silver pinions. The bike, apart from the brake discs/chain/cassette, is pretty much carbon & black in colour so finding black pedal pinions was a must just to keep the esthetics constant. Traveling 20 miles on her in mostly midrange & EMTB (auto mode) uses 24% battery. I'll only wack it into turbo when faced with our ludicrously high angled hills. Bosch's CX motor is THE best for power & reliability bar none. For the money i dont think you could do much better & i spent a load of time researching. Overall, i made the right choice in getting the 140 SLX. German design & engineering at its finest. She's a bit of a sexy beast if i say so myself & I'm a big queer....Ooo'err misses!!!🇬🇧🇨🇦🏳️‍🌈❤️

Hi
Having a guest not wearing a helmet especially as he went down a flight of concrete stairs is not cool.
Here in Australia I have witnessed a very real and dangerous trend where people of all ages including ten year old school kids on E bikes and E scooters not wearing helmets .
No wonder all the ads and you tube channels have foolish people not wearing helmets .
As a person who suffered concussion twice from riding bicycles before I reached the age of 8 years old ( pre helmet days ) head trauma is a real threat even at low speeds …if you fall off a bike or scooter.
Wear a bloody helmet .

Full suspension bikes are useless in urban environments. Unless you exist in semi-rural or rural environments like I do, the suspension does nothing for you except rob forward momentum.
