What is a SUPER BOUNCE? | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The super bounce is an advanced technique to go faster over bounce pads / mushrooms. Drift before the bounce pad, mini turbo before the bounce, and trick after the bounce to go faster. This is very important for Mushroom Gorge.

Me being ready to empty my mind after hearing inward drift cannot do this

Other tip: apparently the game decided that you can't buffer superbounces by shaking the controller so if you shake the controller at the same time/right before bouncing it decides that tricking has taken a day off and you end up getting nothing
