19 children, 2 teachers killed in Texas elementary school shooting

At least 19 children and two teachers are dead after a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The students killed were mainly third- and fourth-graders, according to law enforcement sources.

Incorrect information was given: The grandmother is alive and in in critical condition. The murderer was wearing a vest with no plates, so technically not an armored vest; which means he was evil, dangerous, and stupid.
Every school should have restricted access and an armed security officer. Many business, and every bank, have security measures to restrict unauthorized admission and/or an armed guard; why are our schools left unprotected?

The Aussies have as big a mental health problem as we do but they have reasonable gun control laws. Their federal government sets strict background checks with no exceptions.
