Unfortunately club brugge is not mathematically certain to go trough due to the bad goal difference so if they lose to manchester and al the teams at 10 points draw, they will get bumped out. Manchester city losing in the end to PSG was so bad for brugge because otherwise PSG had to win their last match and they are playing against Stuttgart so in that scenario 1 of those teams could not jump club. Anyway, the cool thing to me is the seeding. The good teams are now in a disadvantage because they have to play against other 1 seeds and the worse teams have the advantage of playing against other 4 seed teams in comparison. Therefore good results against your own level and an upset catapults you to 9 points immediately. At the same time what happens to PSG and Manchester would not happen that easily in the old system imo because of that seeding reason. Hate to say it, but the new system does create more drama.

If I learnt one thing in FM is that seeding after the league stage doesn't mean jacksh.t. I mean look at the table. Would you rather have the seeded Feyenoord/Lille/Brest or the non-seeded Juventus/PSG/City? As long as you qualify it doesn't matter at all.

This is one of my favorite thing about the new format, clubs like PSG and Man City are struggling to break through, and teams like Brest are top 15. Also seeing RB Leipzig with 3 points through 7 matches warms my heart 😂

When computer drew the teams I thought the disbalance between which teams plays what will be different, but in general I think it pretty well represents who is who in European football. Arguably Liverpool is the best in Europe at the moment and probably Barcelona second even with it's hiccups. Ok maybe Bayern and Real are much lower than they should be and Italians seem to be doing well, obviously there are surprises, maybe even more in Europe League. Maybe PSG. But I also do think in domestic leagues there is much more respect in Germany towards Bayern and in France towards PSG and it is not there in Europe, everyone fights like crazy so we have what we have, like recent Feyenord - Bayern game. There are surprises but at the end the teams on the very top and at the very bottom not that surprising
