This whole thing has made me truly loathe Logan Paul. I can’t believe I almost bought into his whole redemption arc a couple years ago. The guy has always been a narcissistic arrogant scumbag willing to break the law or ignore it that was pretending to be a good guy.

I don't think Coffee is interested in settling with Logan. Coffee is more interested in helping Logan's victims. If any as part of settlement, Coffee would want Logan to make his victims whole again. Given Logan is a man child, he doesn't care and would rather see Coffee bullied out of youtube.

So I think this is actually even better for Coffeezilla than it appears. Texas laws require that for someone to sue for defamation, they must make a timely request for correction. And the statue defines timely as within "the period of limitation for commencement of an action for defamation." I've seen other videos state that Logan Paul waited until the last minute to file this lawsuit and that it was nearly outside of the one-year window in which it could be filed. That means that because Logan never requested this correction before for those videos/tweets, that it's now outside the year window. So it's now impossible him to meet the conditions in the law to make a timely request for correction, at least for the first video he complained about. And since more time has passed since then, it would also apply to the others soon if it hasn't already.

What goes around comes around. You may be able to sign on lawyers with the expectation they may be able to bend and twist the law, but judges are where the 'buck stops'.

Unfortunately I don't think this procedural law will hold up.

Sounds crazy, right? Especially since the law is clear.

Florida has a law where prior to being sued for defamation a C&D needs to be sent and the exact alleged defamatory statements need to be outlined in the C&D.

My attorney brought this up in both State and Federal court and... Both times the judge didn't care.

So unfortunately, I would estimate the possibility of them winning this motion at ~20%.

It depends upon the judge - but the judge will probably think, "Whatever. If you have an issue with a procedural law not being followed then you're welcome to file an appellate brief at the conclusion of the case if you receive an adverse ruling."
