Most people know it's important to get freckles or moles checked out by a doctor. But a small spot under your nail could be just as dangerous. CBS 2's Dr. Max Gomez reports.

I've had a mole in my right thumbnail since I was 3 and im 17 now it's always been all brown and just recently got a biopsy and it's all good

Both thumbs and 1 index finger are very similar to 1:36 I thought it was from wearing dip and gel nails and was trying to let it grow out now after reading and researching i probably should see dermatologist to get biopsy...scary

Ok so i've been having this line on my thumb nail. Right hand. Also there's a pimple like hardening of the skin of the joint. I just bite it. It's interesting how this line appeared right after this pimple like anomaly(or whatever you'd call it) and it seems like the line is growing from underneath it.
My nail has changed its shape since last year. Right where the line is it also starts to bend down and it made an edge next to the darkening. I just file it down real smooth. But it has been bothering me because i don't know what it is. I hope it's not cancer. Fu*k cancer.

Meet with your doc and request a biopsy. I had a light stripe and requested a biopsy. The dermatologist thought we should watch it because it was light.

I demaded a biopsy. I had stage 0 melanoma. 100% curable! So...do not wait. Get to a dermatologist.

I have a very slight discoloration on my nail, I can barely notice it. But there is also a small black dot on my nail which has me concerned but on another finger I have a black dot that’s been there for years no changed its pretty much skin tag but the recent appearance of this new one and the slightly discolored finger stripe has me scared.

i found some in my nails but my doctor says it nothing to be concern about it... and now i found some discoloration nail dents on it..

It looks like the 1:30 but not as bad but almost. Freaking out now!!! I am going to the doctor ASAP! But my family does not have any history of cancer or any crazy things like this.
