Nitrate has the formula NO3
Borate has the formula of BO3
Formate has the formula of CHO2
Chlorate has the formula of CLO3

Ions, ions
Not that hard to memorize ay
Follow along and you'll be fine ay
SO3 and SO4 ay
Those are Sulfite and Sulfate ay
PO3 and PO4 ay
Those are Phosphite and Phosphate ay

For -ates, there's a lotta lotta -ates
Like Borate, Carbonate, Oxylate, Acetate, Hydrogen Dichromate
Then -ides, there's a lotta lotta -ides
Iodide, Hydroxide, Fluoride, Peroxide, Bromide, Cyanide

I know that you're drowsy but you should listen calmly
Cuz this the only way that you'll pass, bruh I'm sorry
-Ites and -ates, the -ates have one more extra oxy
Hypo and -ite, the hypos have just one less oxy

You should know these, turn the O2 into the O3
Hypo has one oxygen only
And that's why we call it the queen bee
