hello Square One, hello Aaron

Let me briefly introduce myself. My name is Paul, 66 years old and retired and living in Belgium. My hobby: woodturner. In this wonderful hobby there is little or no professional 3D drawing/plans. All creations are a "one off" (one off a kind). This may be the reason why few people take the time for solid designs on paper. For others and me. I wish to change that and learn the basics of Sketch-up myself.
What I am currently unable to do is the drawing of a pipe in a pipe with different diameters inside. With the end-result in Sketch-up I wish to draw “pepper mills” and “vases” and to present the cross-section (half drawing) as a technical auxiliary drawing with clear sizes.
You asked for a question, that was my question.
I would also like to congratulate you on the beautiful professional videos, clear, understandable, and inspiring.

To Aaron: In front of the camera, never look in the top left corner. Psychologists see that as lying. Which of course you don't :-)

A Square One Fan

Regards
Paul.

THANK YOU !!! I've watched other independent SketchUp videos before coming here. Your videos are the best ones from my standpoint. You take small chunks and cover them completely and usually in about 8-15 minutes, perfect for my attention span. Sometimes I'll watch one, other times several, one after the other.

@SketchUp If you click on the surface you want to push / pull, then activate the push / pull function and click the first then the second point on a segment, you push / pull the length between the 2 points

I love the 'Basics' series - really helpful for an amateur modeller like me! However, you seem to always use the desktop software not the browser version. Perhaps a Basics series for browser users might be a good idea? Keep up the great work!

just started using sketchup, following with the online version. (maybe it's covered later)

if i do a lot of work with round tubes. Like frames, roll cages ETC. How do i line up the round shapes properly? I had tried to put a circle on the side of a tube and it would not let me push pull the new circle.

Eureka! Thank you! So often I'm grabbing the push/pull tool with something already selected, and getting stuck push/pulling that thing. So glad to see that this behavior can be disabled in Preferences. I'll always keep it disabled from now on. Can't imagine why it's useful to use pre-select with push/pull. Is there a reason why this would be handy?

Where you are showing how you put the hole in the wall for some reason I have no idea how you switch to rotating the view to the back of the wall while the push pull is still active. Could you please explain that. I am using a windows 11 pc. thanks
