2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO | UK Review | PistonHeads

What it is there left to say about the R35 Nissan GT-R? It seems to have been around forever. And yet its introduction is no harder to recall than breakfast. That’s because its entry left scorch marks. Is the latest 600hp NISMO version the ideal way for it to check out?

After 13 years it’s still going strong, goes to show how good the original design was and how much it pushed the game on.

It’s crazy to think this has been in production for 13 years. Looking forward to the next one!

Great review - ‘it’s a sledgehammer and it’s a scalpel’ - sums up the GT-R perfectly.

Great review! Love to see how the GT-R which was once seen as digital, is now seen as 'charming' and analog, due to its age and rawness.
For me, it would still be the Track Edition. The 2020 Track Edition has the same wheels, tires, strengthened chassis, and suspension as the 2020 Nismo, and can be optioned with the carbon-ceramic brakes as well as the carbon roof. It costs way less though, without the aero and other expensive carbon bits.

For me, the best reviewer out there. Great relaxed style and really gets to the heart of the car.

Something about GTR;s just fascinates me...even with the newer, high tech cars coming out... its just a beast and that has never changed, even today

The law of diminishing returns at work. Concepts of value and sense, long since departed, for any buyers. I’d head across for a 992 Turbo S personally.

“It actually feels really good in here”. That’s reassuring for your £180K.

an almost perfect review Dan. You're up there with the best at the mo. Not sure why views are always so low.

its crazy how this car can still hang with the newer cars.

MY2011(called MY2012 in US), the facelift one with 530hp, has the most engaging driving dynamics of all the standard R35s, the turn in is super shape and four wheel drift into apex, from MY2012(MY2013 in US), that 550hp version it starts to have some push understeer on corner entry, and from MY2014(MY2015 in US), the one with lighting bolt headlights, the standard R35 becomes a GT kind of car, much softer and even lazy. Also, grip and wet performance aside, the best handling tire for R35 is the OEM Dunlop Sportmaxx GT600.

I had a 2017 latest Facelift GT-R and it’s got to be one of the most effective point to point cars on the road, so much grip and stability.
The running costs were almost supercar level unfortunately chewing through Brakes and Tyres, Drinking Fuel and expensive specialist servicing.
I don’t think I could justify spending £180k when you can get a decent standard GT-R used for around £60K.

1700kg really is pretty good when you consider the A45, a hot hatch, is over 1600

Sounds awesome but come on, £180, 000 for a GTR?!!! That's just nuts!!! I'd buy a second-hand GTR for that and use the rest of the money to buy a house!
