I beat this challenge in NYC. The next morning as we were driving around town I MADE my friend pull over at a Wendy's so I could "relieve" myself in their bathroom. Thank god it just opened and was still clean.

It’s the accumulation of the heat with each bite.
I remember when 3 of my housemates at University had phaal. I tried one spoonful and thought that it is spicy, but didn't blow my head off. But that was one spoon full. 2 hours later 1 was screaming in agony, the other didn't finish it because it just too damn hot and final one, well he's from Sri Lankan heritage so his threshold of taking the heat was a lot higher than the other two.
