Wasps are a very interesting genus. I have seen both the "jewel-wasp" which are stunning, like little gems and the "Ichneumon" or, tree-babies, they bury their larvae in wood. Fascinating species are wasps, but rarely they sting, it's only when they get stuck on things like jam on yer cake, or hair on yer arm, once they get stuck, then they sting. Bless, at that point they've decided they cannot get away, so they send a shout to the nest. So, I say to people to not swat the things away, it's not gonna be an issue, if it's late Summer, they have no nest and will feed on the bits and pieces, you don't need to worry. Now, spider-bites....same thing! We're in the UK, the worst you'd ever get here is a rare bite from a wolf-spider that somehow snuck into the country, the worst we have here is the Steadota, the False Widow..might make you ill, but it ain't gonna kill ya
