2024 Buick Envista review by The Straight Pipes. The 24 Envista is putting down 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque from a 1.2L Turbo 3 Cylinder. At $38,999 CAD, would you take it over the CX-30 or Civic?

I regularly forget that Buick is a company that still exists.

I just purchased one of these as a commuter car for my business. For the price point it is great and gas mileage is good. You mentioned that you can't change the driver side display but you actually can. When you are looking at the different options you push the arrow and select add to cluster

I’m 28 and I’ve owned 4 Buicks from the 90s. Totally underrated cars.

The design of the Buick is incredible. The engine, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired.

Acura was so on point in 2013 with the shape of the ZDX. They really jumped the gun with that design

I actually like this and the price is very good. I don't need/want AWD. I wish the mpg was slightly better, and I'd feel better with a 4-cyl, or maybe a 3 with a hybrid backing it up instead of the turbo. I'm glad somebody is paying attention to affordable cars that highlight comfort.

Buick has some of the best noise dampening and vibration suppression technology in the GM line up. Quiet and comfort is what the brand is about.

I’ll never understand why during the GM bankruptcy they got rid of Pontiac instead of Buick. It would have made so much more sense to have one luxury brand and one sporty brand instead of one luxury brand and one semi-luxury brand

I can’t help thinking that it looks like a baby Lambo Urus with the single worst engine ever.

Buick was retained because it was huge in China. In Chinese, Buick sounds auspicious, as in BU (wealth) + ICK (Profit/Benefit). This is literally the main reason why it became so popular initially in China's semi-luxury segment.

For some historical reflection ... despite the Envista's Korean roots ... Buick is actually the oldest _existing_ US car company (not only in the US, but in the world). Buick is the company from which GM evolved - it's founder was born in Scotland and the brand has a decent racing history. They were one of the first companies to have their motors used in mid-engine La Mans cars (predating Porsche, Ford and Ferrari). In the 60s, they used stock 215ci aluminum block engines in their Indy cars. The 80's and 90's didn't do the brand any favors, but the new styling (thanks to Asian markets) is headed in the right direction. Buick has never capitalized on its history - and they really should. Hey, this entry level vehicle is slow - but at least the engine sounds like it's working (which it is :D) ... some modern 4-cylinder engines today just sound buzzy and numb.

It's a decent, comfortable little car for the money. Doesn't check my boxes but I'm glad people are still making cars like this.

It's nice to see Buick edging back toward making cars again. I was shocked when they stopped making any sedans at all, since that was their thing for so long. I think they should always have at least one super squishy quiet big sedan for the people who want that sort of thing. But yeah, the should remake the Grand National for sure.

Me and my friends went to the dealership in Vaughan to check the car out, nobody in the dealership including the sales guys even had a clue of the car’s existence! 😅

I think It looks pretty cool. I like the new Buick logo too. I wish this came with a turbo four and/or a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder option.

Actually a really good looking vehicle, unfortunately it's also extremely underpowered!

Man remember the 3800 Series II with the super charger. They used to have a Buick Ultra with that engine. Basically a DeVille chassis with that fun SC motor in it. Man what a fricken land yacht that was.
