Meet MacGyver, the lovable giant lizard

MacGyver is a 17-pound Argentine Red Tegu.

Yes! AR red & bw Tegus are amongst the smartest of pet lizards and like to be pet when tamed. But they do have an teenager stage and can severely injure you. Always study up on an animal you want to make sure its right for you. This lizard eats a lot daily, needs a lot of heat, an 8 foot by 4 foot enclosure and so much more, but they are awesome.

For inexperienced owners, here's a tip: tegus are very angry and mean as babies, but are very easy to tame. Just forcefully handle them and give them love before feedings in spite of their protests, and train them as scavengers instead of hunters, and they become really chill as they age. Once they learn to be social, they basically become dogs.

Just don't call him a "lizard" where he can hear you bc by the looks of it he thinks he's your human baby. He's just so adorable & yes, cuddly too. It's clear that by his actions & the look of contentment in his little eyes that he loves Y'all. It's amazing how most animals respond to love no matter the species!
