In this lesson I want to demonstrate how I use quartal harmony when I am playing in both modal and moving harmony. I also want to give some ways to practice these voicings and put them to use in those situations.

This is a great lesson! Especially the non-dorian applications of the voicings! As always, very instructive and clear. Thanks a lot Jens!

very clear, thanks. The most complicated for me is to remember voicings for a melodic minor scale :)

When one plays quartal chords in a group context, is it necessary for every musician to stick to this type voicing? Or is it safe for some to play 'regular' chords stacked in thirds?

Nice! So you actually use this when comping on normal tunes as well, right? Not only for modal comping. For example the two bars of C-7 in twnbay would be great to use this over, to create some movement and a melody. Agree?

cannot agree with the fact we use b6 in G7 in progresion Dm7 - G7 - CMaj7 which is ii - V - I. It calls for perfect 6.
