Die WDR BIG Band feat. Bill Laurance am Piano mit seiner Komposition "The Good Things", arrangiert von Vellu Halkosalmi. Chefdirigent Bob Mintzer leitet die WDR Big Band. Ein weiteres Solo spielt Paul Heller am Tenorsaxofon. Als Gast an den Perkussions spielt Bodek Janke. "The Good Things" ist eines der 9 spannenden Stücke aus der gemeinsamen Arbeit mit der WDR Big Band, aus der auch eine CD gepresst wurde. Aufgezeichnet am 24. November 2018 in der Kölner Philharmonie.
Einem breiten Publikum dürfte Bill Laurance Gründungsmitglied und langjährigem Keyboarder der international erfolgreichen Band "Snarky Puppy" bekannt sein. Er verfügt über eine enorme musikalische Bandbreite: seine Stücke sind mal kammermusikalisch, mal breitbandig und mal poetisch. Bill Laurance hat als Pianist, Keyboarder und als Komponist die Grenzen der zeitgenössischen Instrumentalmusik deutlich erweitert.
