I leave my room numerous times a day (so maybe if a reader doesn't, that's the first step! lol) and every time i leave my room i bring something downstairs that needs to be placed elsewhere. that could be dirty dishes or cups, empty soda cans, etc. That way there's never any garbage or clutter in my room.

Also because I do this, there's actually no garbage bins in my room. I find that having a garbage bin in any upstairs room leads to yucky buildup of things that shouldn't be there. like imagine old food in your room for days or over a week because it's easier? ewww

So yeah, that tip about just grabbing w/e from your room to take it downstairs is huge.
