Big blow to Rahul Gandhi; Surat Court rejects appeal to stay conviction in 'Modi Surname' case

In a fresh setback to Rahul Gandhi, a court in Gujarat's Surat city rejects Congress leader's application for a stay on his conviction in a criminal defamation case over his "Modi surname" remark. Rahul had on April 3 approached the sessions court for appeal against the lower court's order. A stay on conviction by the sessions court could have paved the way for Gandhi's reinstatement as the Member of Parliament. Rahul was last month sentenced to two years in jail and is currenty out on bail. Watch the video for more.
