I have listened to this song intermittently for some years. This is a song for all time, but especially for our world right now. Thank you Mary. ❤

"Yellowstone" (on the Paramount Network) has introduced some fantastic music to the viewers of this series... this song is just one of them. Love it!

Song plays and instantly im thinking and seeing my late father. Before I know it I have tears in my eyes. Then im smiling writing this comment knowing that it will be read by others who just get it. I can’t wait to be with my dad again one day.

My father passed away in 2009. On the 10th anniversary of his death I sang this song in his memory and dedicated it to his son (my brother) and my son. The officers that policed under my dad when he was chief cried like babies. I cry every time I hear this song. We all could use some mercy now. It cuts to the heart and soul and so true. I loved my father, still do and always will. Rest in peace dad.

I have listened to this in times of turmoil, and it came into my head this morningl I think it rose up because of listening to Bishop Budde's sermon at the National Cathedral during the inauguration. I am grateful to both Mary and the Bishop for holding up mercy. We really need it now.

The perfect song for today, February 28, 2025. 💔 So many hearts, just on the ground. Thank you, Mary. Again.

I needed this today. Last month, my husband went into hospice care. My best dog who was only 5 years old died from cancer. A week later, my cat died from a sudden heart attack. Today, I had to have a dog that I have raised for 1-1/2 years put to sleep for attacking and trying to kill other dogs. And this afternoon, a litter of 5 puppies I rescued went to the vet and are hospitalized with parvo. I could sure use a little mercy now.

This a song part of a continuum, of truth being past down through the ages - the words of the message might change, but the message stays the same, I think it is simply one of the most insightful, compassionate and beautiful songs of my 72 Years. Thank You Mary.

I lost my youngest brother when I was 14. I lost father when I was 17. I lost my mother when I was 55 and my oldest brother when I was 56. I'm tired of losing and could use some mercy now.

I was out in the country in a beautiful spot when this song came on the radio and it was...MAGIC.
It gave me such peace. It was a God moment for me.

My dad is currently in a bad way healthwise. I heard Mary Guathier interviewed on Folk and Acoustic Music today. She's a national treasure, and she was a wonderful interview. This song was played during the interview. It spoke to me, and I needed that comfort.

There is a song that transcends time and history to be always true and applicable.

Any time an artist sits down with an acoustic guitar, this is the song they hope to write.
