Freddy says one of the tubes is a "power amp" tube in the power section. Just to be clear, Vox's own literature on it says that they are both 12AX7's. "VOX’s AV30 uses a pair of 12AX7 tubes and a unique analog circuit design".

I have the AV60, when I put the reactor switch to the right I get a loud hum, is this normal ?

I'm divided between this one or the classic Vox Ac15. I play mostly at home with my strat. Which would you choose?

I’ve played the shit out of these amps and can’t hear a difference in switching the bias or the reactor....the bright switch is moderately flavoring as is the fat switch.
