At the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche showed off their first battery-powered four-seat concept car, called Mission E.

The concept underlines Porsche's desire to increase their electric drive range, in a bid to take on the likes of Tesla Motors' Model S.

The car features 600 hp, a 300 mile driving range and 15 minute charging time.

Unusually for an EV, the system runs on 800 Volts (most EVs run on around 350 V). This means that the car's batteries are better able to accept a rapid charge and so 0-80% range is possible within 15 minutes using, Porsche Turbo Charging system. Additionally, Mission E can be charged using regular CCS or inductive wireless charging.

Acceleration from its dual PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) electric motors provides 0-62 mph in, "less than 3.5 seconds," and 124 mph (200 km/h) is reached in under 12 seconds.

Unlike the Tesla Model S, seating is strictly for four persons, rather than five with an option for seven.
