MSFS - Dual ADF Approach

In this video, we try for a tricky approach into UUPP using TWO NDBs to locate the runway. Challenging to say the least!

First, there is just something wholesome about your NDB aficionado enthusiasm; thank you for showing this.
Minor nitpick though: I don't think you are doing the viewer any favours by explicitly reading "feet". If you want to emphasize the 'ambiguity' (if we can even call it that) simple say "altitude 1100" - Edit: or "height 1100" as appropriate.

Ah heh, ... I recognize that location Yelizovo...

That's the airport which has possibly the most messed up data within the base ARIAC (none Navigraph data) within MSFS (at least that I've found...)

It has ILS, VORD, and (as you have demonstrated) many many NDB (4 at the airport and another 2 in proximity!), but (according to FS) both from the world map, and from any of the FMS I have tried (Airbus 310 / 320 / Longitude G5000 / GNS 530) has no procedures whatsoever...

Also, the ILS ... are lined up with Taxiway A... not on runway 16/34 - it's like it's made for Harrison Ford...

Cat II approach to Taxiway A???? That's got to be unique 😀

I remember this as the first Russian landfall of a trip I and a mate were making from Alaska, having on this leg taken off from I think it was PADK in the Andreanof Islands, enroute to Japan..

Using live weather, in ~March, and having loaded in all the waypoints for ILS Z 34L and preceding arrival manually, I vividly remember the point where I realised the A310 was going to attempt to autoland on (what looks like) the snow covered taxiway, and not on the nice clear runway next to it...

...

But hang on, why are all the published procedures (including the one you followed here) for Runway 34L / 16R...

...

Ok - so looking at the airport charts it becomes clear...

The issue is not with the ILS procedure being on the taxiway, but rather that with FS, the textures are completely wrong...

What is shown as a Taxiway (A) within MSFS, is actually 34L / 16R - and what looks like an active runway, is actually the old (closed) runway 34R/16L - which is really clear if you compare the Aerodrome chart, Google Earth, and what we have in MSFS!

NDB's (L/LW) are also (correctly) lined up with 34L... and not 34R...

So.... I'm afraid to say... it looks like you landed on the wrong runway!!!😁

I'm only just now practicing nav with steam guage panels... Just wrapping my mind around this approach was task saturation enough lmao

I liked your approach videos very much. Do you plan some more? These ones are quite nice:
KROW 21 HI-ILS
LICR 33 LOC C
LYTV 14 NDB
SLCB 14 VOR
SLLP 10 ILS V
SEQM all of them

Dangerous is right. I believe it was this sort of approach that killed US Secretary of Commerce Rob Brown and 34 others on approach to Dubrovnik on an Air Force 737-200 in 1996.
