An album review on the self-titled release from Vended.

“Vended, the rising metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, is set to make waves with their self-titled debut album releasing on September 20, 2024. This highly anticipated album marks a significant milestone for the five-piece group, which has been gaining traction since their formation in 2018. Produced by Chris Collier, known for his work with Korn, the album features 13 powerful tracks, including previously released singles like "The Far Side" and "Nihilism." Vocalist Griffin Taylor emphasizes that this album embodies the band's aggressive and emotional essence, aiming to fill a void in today's music landscape. As Vended embarks on their North American tour alongside Slipknot and Knocked Loose, fans can expect an electrifying experience that showcases their raw energy and unique sound.” (Perplexity)

Worked a show with these guys as a stage hand and they are hands down the nicest people I have ever worked with. Every single one of them are so down to earth and super friendly. Fuckin love those guys

Ah Vended, when they came to Chile for Knotfest, there was technical issues everywhere, the opening bands were unable to play, and it was getting very late, so they just said fck it and started playing against the (poor) event production, and they did so great. All bands were great that day, but damn the local event production wasn't ready to such professional bands.

I thought it was a pretty solid debut. I can see why some find it too Slipknotty for its own good, but it's really no worse about that than a lot of other bands who started out wearing their influences on their sleeves. (And a number of those bands did eventually find their own voice.) I'd be happy to see them live one day.

Saw them at Bloodstock two years ago, Griff has a lot of energy to his stage presence, and he's also really cool in person if my time meeting him at the signing tent is any indicator.

I've loved all the singles so far, really reminds me of early Knot (I hate to be that guy) but that's the most positive thing I could say because Slipknot meant so much to me when I was going through some shit some years ago...

Simon's drumming has been a standout based on the singles released so far and I'm more excited for this than I have been any album all year.

I cannot wait for the future of this band, and I also hope this kills the "NepoKnot" complaints because this shows they deserve to be here

Finally, band bold enough to answer the question I'm sure we all had: "what if Slipknot were nepo babies"
