I was never a Broncos fan but John was scary good. I'm approaching 50 and he was the first true passer who would frequently make the biggest plays scrambling. Not to mention that if I could pick any QB down by 4 with 2 minutes to go and the ball it's either Brady or Mr. Elway for my money. He was truly amazing.

There’s no star of Elway’s magnitude who is as genuinely humble as John is. And make no mistake, he’s top 10 all time, maybe top 5.

The reason I’m a broncos fan. The reason I like football to begin with. The man. John Elway

Grew up watching Elway lead my Broncos every week. Most exciting player in the league. If there were two minutes left on the clock, you knew he was going to do something amazing to win the game. He was HIM back in the day.

I’m so glad that, even as a kid I was able to watch John Elway, and how great he was without allowing his numbers to skew how I viewed him. His numbers on paper are not as impressive as some of the other all-time great quarterbacks, or especially the top quarterbacks of today in an NFL that has clearly maneuvered the rules in their favor, but anybody that puts any trust in what their eyes see through what they’ve learned about the game, could easily conclude that John Elway was one of the greatest quarterbacks you’ve ever seen

I was lucky to see him play in person, his last college football game …Cal/ Stanford…” the band is out on the field “ …..’82..What a game he had even though Stanford lost, he made some incredible passes, the 4th and17, pretty much out of the cal end zone, to get the first down to set up the field goal, with 4 seconds left, then all hell broke loose when Cal lateraled with no time left to win it, it was a great game to watch…best wishes..

John Elway is easily top five all-time. Obviously, he couldn’t play forever, but when he retired, he was the quarterback with the most wins of all time and second in passing yards, only behind Dan Marino. He was also the first quarterback ever to start in five Super Bowls. He was incredible to watch he could roll out to one side and throw the ball 60 yards across the field with velocity. Among all the quarterbacks who played in the ’80s and ’90s, he’s one of the very few who could seamlessly fit into today’s game. His size, athleticism, and arm strength were unmatched. I’d love to see him, Brett Favre, and Steve Young play in today’s NFL.

Easily 65 yards for the Man! I hated him when he beat my Steelers in the AFC ship, but ALWAYS respected him. Loved him at Stanford while living in San Jose.

It seems that he & Actress Valerie Bertinelli went to the same high school at the same time. I looked up about VB, it showed that she went to this HS. I said to myself “that’s where John Elway went to”. VB & JE were born on the same year.

All I know is Brady couldn’t have done what Elway did in Denver, especially early on.

The GOAT QB list is:
1. Elway
2. Montana
3..Brady
4. Young
5. Marino

I’m willing to go to war over this list because I know its right
