Cain Is Back and Abel Is Pissed | Hazbin Hotel Swap AU Animatic

Story: Emily takes her role of ‘Heavenly Bringer of Joy' very seriously. After all, the Big G himself gave her that role. Extermination Day causes such an outpouring of rabid joy that it doesn't matter what her own beliefs are, she exists to make winners happy. Besides, sinners are in Hell for a reason and she needs to focus on rewarding winners in Heaven for all their good deeds.

She carries a lot of authority among the Elders of Heaven and up until now, thought that Sera held similar views regarding the exterminations. But after a certain point did she get suspicious of Sera's behavior. She doesn't like to spy but her curiosity got the best of her. Using the Omniscient Orb found in the Heavenly Courtroom, she discovered what Sera had done: she was on Adam’s side and what’s worse is that she dragged Cain to Heaven. To say she was horrified and angry was an understatement.

Cain never died and thus never faced Divine Judgement but if he could, he would definitely be a sinner. And having such a sinner in Heaven felt downright obscene, especially considering how Abel would feel. And speaking of which, she couldn't hide this from him. They got along well and letting him know was the right thing to do.

She expected him to go nuclear but the rage seemed to have been building up slowly. Abel has to be smart about how to handle this. As much as he wants to retaliate at that very second, he knows that's not practical.

Shortly after did Sera announce what she had done and called for a trial. The other Elders trust her enough to let this all play out. Everyone had their eyes on what Abel would do. For now, he’ll play Sera’s game but he’s determined to not lose.

Brother against brother, sister against sister. A heavenly civil war is brewing, and it's up to Adam to try to bring peace to his family once and for all.

The return of metalhead Abel! Because it has been a hot minute since the last metal cover. Fun fact, if this were an actual show, I would cast Caleb Hyles as Abel. Now you know what his ‘official’ voice is (go listen to his covers, he has the voice of an angel). Anyways, this is a direct continuation of the More than Anything animatic (lol I was lazy and added some of the images from there in here). I know this might be slightly disappointing since it's only a snippet of Stayed Gone but the problem with the full song is that while Vox’s lines are suitable enough, Alastor’s part doesn't suit what I think Cain’s personality is. He’s not gonna taunt his little brother after everything his actions caused.

p.s. Adam likes rock, Abel likes metal, and I decided that Cain is a classical music fan. The vampire aesthetic I gave him makes me associate him with Dark Academia. But he isn't a vampire, just old. Old timey. Old, regal, Victorian-esque wanderer. Which fits with his whole ‘Former Prince of Hell’ backstory.

+The Omniscient Orb requires a lot of power to work. Emily was only able to conjure up enough to show the important bits. Abel doesn't know about Lute being at Adam and Cain’s reunion, he only knows that Cain is back, his dad is supportive, and that Sera is to blame.

+The existence of the hotel in Limbo is a secret that Emily and the Elders don't know about. Sera’s risk of getting in trouble triples as it's one thing to support ending the extermination, it's another to take such action between realms and to keep said project hidden, all done without the approval of the other Elders.

+As for that bit about Limbo, Lute is the one that is constantly going down there to help with the project. She does this for 2 reasons: a desire to help with the cause as best she can and to avoid Heaven as much as possible because she really doesn't want to bump into any Exorcists, much less her genocidal ex boyfriend.

+I considered making Cain a rock fan like his dad. But we all know what happened the last time he liked a rock (ba dum tss)

+”What does God look like?” He’s not one to directly meddle often but you know that popular fan appearance he has, the one with the 4 eyes and hat? Yeah, let's go with that.

You know, I just thought of something. Cain's mark is a curse, yes, but it is also a mark of protection against murder. Whatever happens to him will be done to the instigator seven-fold, as God said. I'm worried that Abel will grievously wound his brother just to instantly suffer an injury far worse, possibly even die from it.
