I think you're right about the nation locations. This is especially since we had a couple of events where Qiaoying Village, an unreleased area of Liyue, was talked about. It's said to be in the northwestern part of Liyue, and Liben told us it's common for people to pass through Qiaoying Village on their way to Fontaine. Therefore, Fontaine has to be on the western border of Liyue. Now, speaking of triangulating...

Since Celestia now has a 3D model instead of just being a 2D image constantly rotated to face us, I decided to figure out where it is. I viewed it from Stormterror's Lair and then from the northern border of Sumeru. It appears that Celestia is currently floating right above where we expect Fontaine to be. In Liben's most recent visit, he said the people of Fontaine keep saying "Judgment is coming" and with Celestia floating right above their heads, I don't blame them for thinking that.

You also have to take into consideration that the map borders got expanded after the addition of the desert. Previously the "Teleport Barrier" (the point where you get teleported no matter what) was just before the big pyramid and it was actually outside the visible map of the menu map. Now the menu map has been expanded and I think it will be expanded even more in the future

There are some old "leaked" or alpha/beta maps of the game. Natlan is almost where you theorized it to be, just a bit more southwest, with a volcano and a dark/black beach on the south side of the continent. There is a waterfall area in Fontaine and also Celestia is also part of the map (how/why). There were also peculiar things such as Dark Castles and frozen watefalls.

btw there was a leaked map with the leak of inazuma that shows us where each country is located and whats gonna happen in the "empty" Mondstadt region


= why the leaked map is no longer up to date =
The map is now old because they added extra Islands to Inazuma and the desert is now in Sumeru instead of being between Natlan and Snezhnaya.
(Which didn't make sense on the old leaked map)
My speculation is that there were/ are 2 teams in Mihoyo working on the regions. One for fine tuning and one for the rough work and they work on 1, 5 region. That's why the jungle part of Sumeru is almost like it was released but almost all islands on Inazuma are missing on the leaked map.
It makes sense why we don't know almost anything about the geographic of Snezhnaya or natlan.

So the spoilers:
= Fontaine =
Fontaine gets one of 2 types of cities:
The map leak has a city marked as a Waterfall city and a city named High city (which can be Celestia). Another leak tells us that Fontaines main city is in a see and has branches and is located on the map where high city is on the leaked map. (so maybe 2 cities/ 1 city and a waterfall village?)
= Mondstadt =
So Mondstadt is gonna get a harbor (new info based on theories and texts/voice lines) or a black castle (old info on leaked map, was maybe moved to the Fischls summer event)
In the empty space between Mondstadt and Lyue is a Meteorite Crater/ lake and a Ring shape Mountain. (I think it was not as much developed as Inazuma and sumeru)
= Natlan =
Natlan gets a volcano region (like Dragonspine), a black beach and lava lakes.
= Snezhnaya =
Snezhnaya was not developed in Inazuma times but it was where you placed it.

btw did you know that our map is rotated by 180 degrees?
In Mondstadt the guardian of the north is located in the south and the guardian of the west is located on the east. Search for it and ponder whether this is a mistake on the part of the developers or part of the lore.. ;D

Edit: the leaked map was leaked from the first Closed Beta Test (CBT)

There was a new analysis (2 months ago; private server) from leakers of the terrain of Genshin and it seems like the rough work team has started making Fontaine (4.0; mountains and lakes take shape) and the fine tuning team is doing the 3.4 and 3.6 regions of the north of Sumeru currently (will not be updated untill full release sadly).

described it as a fiery swamp, so at least part of it must be sort of the in between for fontaine and the desert area

I had a dream today about the rest of the nations. The dream included an area with bridges that connect to every nation that hasn’t been out yet. They connected like a rectangle for some reason and it looked stunning when I viewed it. This dream has definitely got to be bullshittery

Hi, if you have Sayu you can travel much faster
when you are logged in, immediately switch to Sayu, point her in the direction you want to go and hold her skill, after Paimon finishes his line for the second time, immediately start pressing button to switch to another character (after 2s pressing character will actually switch), then log out, before being teleported back. And do the same thing again. This is how i travel outside.

Bro... You could make so much more content from this. It's so interesting. Like just this area between Liyue and Sumeru - what is it, what it can be, what have you found and seen exactly? Or - what are those circles at the desert in the north??? This is fascinating, I would like to hear so much more. I would say you hit gold and you made so much effort, it's worth to show us more from it, compare to already released regions, speculate about it, etc.

You can just, you know, scroll around the map to blandly figure out the full map. At a certain point, the map just launches you back, possibly meaning that "The map ends here". I just used that and for me. Fontaine will go from Mondstand all the way to Sumeru(Large bodies of water), Natlan will be at the southern most point(connects with Sumeru) and Snezhnaya will be at the northern most point but it will connect with Mondstand. So for me, the map will be something close to that.
