Join the Petersen as we push the @BMW M5 to the Limit at the BMW Performance Center in Thermal, California. Enjoy a full tour of the facilities and test tracks as we tour both the GT4 cars, track, and classroom.

BMW’s Performance Driving School is back and better than ever for 2021- now’s your chance to get behind the wheel of BMW M vehicles in a Lead Follow exercise on Thermal tracks as you try to keep up with instructors. Then head to the autocross track for runs in multiple vehicles, from the nimble MINI Cooper S to the powerful BMW M2. End with a thrilling hot lap, where you ride with a professional BMW driving instructor for a true display of M Power on the exclusive Thermal South Palm track. Morning and afternoon sessions available with lunch provided in each.

I have been lucky enough to do a corporate event here. It is an amazing experience, the driving instructors are very entertaining and the mix of courses is a absolute blast. While it is a 1.5-2 hours drive from most of SoCal, it is worth it. Don’t be fooled, the Thermal track is not long, but very demanding. The highlight of the day is the ride along with the instructors where they give you a couple of laps full of drifting and high speed frivolity. The food post event was outstanding. Lots of hot and cold choices, all freshly made and plenty of it. If you are looking for a unique corporate experience that is beyond the ballgame/golf outing... I can’t recommended this any higher.

I did the advanced course at kyalami in south africa, what would be the process and what is needed in becoming an instructor for the courses?

I went there last year in March and I had to do something way different than I had booked. Very disappointing. I left from that location even earlier.

The hot lap was more of a drifting demo for YouTube. Going fast requires driving smoothly, braking late and acceleration out of a corner. " Look where you want to go" is the mantra of Spring Mountain, NV.
