This Easter egg was added to commemorate the loss of an amazing employee and first apprentice of Rare, James White (also known as Glitterbeard)

Huge thanks to every single legend who helped us achieve this Easter egg, you all mean alot to me.

In order to achieve this Easter egg you need 8 different pirates, all standing in the sand patches around Plunder Valley, playing a specific instrument which will be listed in the journals you can find around the seas.

Once all pirates are in position, wait for 10pm-11pm (IN GAME TIME) And play the shanty Becalmed and let me magic happen.

For anyone considering to record this, make sure the recorder is in the lead, let them play first then everyone else will proceeded a second or two after.

Make sure you are 100% in the correct position, otherwise you will mess everything up, and have to start over again, or in an unlucky case like our first attempt, have to wait an entire 24hrs in game time haha.

Since the time I uploaded this up until now, alot has changed in my life. Sadly my crew and I don't sail together much anymore. Me and my ex split up over two months ago, and my best friend, Deadsirius got burnt out of Sea Of Thieves. However I'm hoping we'll return in S6 with some new content, judging I get a working port for my PC lmao, yes my PC is busted atm too.

Do you know what I really love about all of this though? Rare used a community made song for this. Whilst they need to fix their game, they do actually care about the community. The chronicles of Umbra wouldn't be a thing if the case were otherwise. Such a great way to remember a co-worker, immortalising him in the game the he loved and helped create.

Did this 2 nights ago. Had to take a sloop hostage cause we only had 7. Ended up with 9. The 9th ran security detail and waved his arms dancing it was awesome. The light entering the tree as it might be Jim White starting his career at rare or even as GLITTERBEARD on the sea of thieves and spreading through us all and then it departing the tree as it might be Jim’s spirit. as this hits 4 years in just a few more days, I'm reminded once again of the genuine beauty of humans. I remember when me and my closest friends finally got a server to agree, it was just amazing. The impact this song, and tribute, has had over the past 4 years is proof that through good times and bad there will always be strangers you can rally together with.

November 2nd, 2022. As I looked at my Dog dying from kidney failure, hacking and gasping for her last breaths, I said many things to her. I put on this video, music full blast. She was deaf, but her heart worked just fine as she lay her head to rest. Her foul breath didn't phase me, her last chokes of foamed saliva came on the couch, and she finally rested as her heart beat no more. RIGH AT THE CLIMAX OF THE SONG. I closed her eye, and let the rest of the song play before I let out a blood curdling scream of agony that echoed through the town when my companion of 13 years left peacefully. She chose to die in my arms, and I honored her as best as I could.
This song gave her the warmest farewell. Thank you.

me and my friends did this the other day and i had no idea this existed and we did it with complete strangers and we did mess up the 1st time but the fact everyone was willing to wait to do it again really touched my heart, people around the world coming together to play a song and a place as special as this.

it honestly made my day and since then my attitude on SOTS has been to spread kindness and help others with their voyages, we sail the seas together, dont take this game too serious or u lose what secrets this game has and the gift of people working together does.
