I have a math book with all these tricks for different numbers for different operations. The trick is, they only work with those numbers. Instead of memorizing all these different "tricks", I will stick with the old fashioned way, works every time with all numbers in all operations.

I used to have a book years ago that had a formula for figuring the square root, based on some sort of division. I used to be a whiz at it but can't find the book and I forgot the formula.
